Corporate Governance

The function of the Board is to represent Westcare members, service recipients, their families and other key stakeholders in determining and demanding appropriate organisational performance for the services provided.

The Board is committed to meeting all legal and moral responsibilities and requirements accompanying sound corporate governance.

Responsibilities of the Board include:

  •  Strategic direction, establishing operational criteria and monitoring the achievement of objectives and conduct of operations.
  • Delegates responsibility for executive management of the Association to the Chief Executive Officer who has regard to matters reserved for the Board.
  • Accountable for and regularly review the internal control framework and has developed a set of policies, procedures, practices, and various committee which set criteria and enable the Board to monitor compliance with statutory, legal stakeholder and best practice requirements.
  • Managing affairs of the Association in accordance with the Constitution, and relevant legislation and uses its best endeavour to further the aims of the Association and people with disabilities.
