Introduction
Westcare Incorporated is a not for profit organisation, providing quality employment, training and accommodation for people with disabilities for over 60 years. Westcare Incorporated consists of Westcare Industries and Westcare Accommodation Services. Westcare Industries provides employment support and training in printing, cardboard box making, industrial packaging, food packaging and safety goods manufacturing. Westcare Accommodation is committed to supporting and training working age people with a disability to enable them to live in a setting of their choice, e.g. independently in the community or at a village.
We rely significantly on donations from the public to continue our business. Your donation is in good hands and we would like to tell you why.
If sustainable development is about ensuring a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come Westcare is an excellent exponent of this principle. Let us look at three perspectives of sustainability and apply some performance indicators to WESTCARE, now and in the future.
Social Performance - People
People are the core of Westcare. This includes our supported employees, residential clients, staff and customers. The latter includes those people and organisations who over the years have supported our cause with donations and businesses. We are well advanced towards developing service excellence of which we can be proud of.
We continue to improve the working and living environment of our people with disabilities and would like to expand our employment and accommodation services. To fill this need we need to grow financially to service the costs of managing these programs. Your donations help.
Environment Performance - Planet
We produce Socially Responsible products such as:
- handmade cardboard boxes
- safety vests which conform to Australian standards
We have a comprehensive reuse and recycle commitment in the office and production environment.
We provide accommodation, independent living and training services and welfare support services to over 150 people with disabilities. This is done in a very cost efficient manner.
We continue to work very hard to help rid the planet of one of its greatest scourges, tuberculosis, and have invested funds in research projects and local and overseas programs. Your donations help.
Economic Performance - Profit
We offer high quality printing, safety clothing, cardboard box manufacturing and food packaging services. Customers who buy our products are really making a donation by getting the added satisfaction of receiving the goods they need. In return we can keep employing people with disabilities and from our profits can continue supporting our accommodation and tuberculosis programs. We seek to maintain a level of profitability that allows all stakeholders to invest in growth and provide opportunities for people. With this in mind we are seeking to build strategic partnerships in emerging areas of business. Your donations help.
